Browser Requirements

To make the best use of this tutorial and to minimize technical problems, please note the following recommendations:

  • You must use a frames-capable browser, such as Netscape version 3.0 or later, and Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later.
  • You must enable Javascript on your browser (check your browser's preference settings).
  • Maximize your browser to fill your screen and take advantage of all the monitor space you have available.
  • To dedicate even more space to tutorial content, remove or reduce as many of the tool bars and navigation bars on your browser as possible.
  • Make sure that you have graphics enabled on your browser or you won't see the illustrations that form an essential part of this tutorial.

   Navigation Tips

The tutorial makes use of frames.

Chapter Frame Section Frame Text Frame
Graphic Frame

Use the Chapter Frame to navigate between chapters and to exit the tutorial. Use the Section Frame to move quickly from one section of a chapter to another. Text and graphics will appear automatically in their respective frames.
 

Blue Arrow Link to a graphic    Throughout the tutorial a little blue arrow (Blue Arrow ) is used to indicate a link to a graphic that relates directly to the text at hand. Please click on the link in order to the display the graphic. Clicking on the words beneath the graphic in the Graphic Frame will return you to the location in the Text Frame related to that particular graphic.
 
Previous Section Next Section    The arrows in the Text Frame at the top and bottom of the page are also used to move between sections and chapters.
 
Whiz Quiz   Did You Know?    The Apple button links you to related "Whiz Quizes", while the Lightbulb button always leads to interesting facts when we ask "Did You Know?" At the end of each chapter we offer links to the rest of the CCRS Web site relating to the information you have just read, and for which you will need an Internet connection.
